Fraser Island
The best organized tour I did in Australia so far was Fraser Island: Three days off-road driving through woods and beaches with 4WD jeeps, camping without toilets and showers, and visiting beautiful swimming spots!
First of all shopping lots of food for the trip at Aldi in Hervery Bay - a nice memory of good old Germany with quite cheap prices.

The group of 13 people plus our guide Ken started with two 4WDs and ferried to Fraser Island.

Driving the jeeps over the beach is fun! I liked the challenging off-road parts through the woods even better.

Camping on Fraser is back to basics, and can be a bit dangerous, too: One night we found a snake in our camp, probably a Death Adder. The next night one of our tents has been searched by a dingo who took a girl's beauty case :-) Not sure if it was this guy that we spotted the day after:

The shipwreck of the Maheno is an interesting place:

Fraser features a multitude of beautiful beaches - swimming not recommended due to sharks. Better go for the crystal clear lakes.

Daintree, Whitsundays, Magnetic Island, Bundaberg
I started my road trip down the East Coast together with three funny people I met in Cairns, in our fancy campervan which quickly became our beloved home.

First of all our trip took us to the north of Cairns, into the world heritage Daintree National Park. Here wild subtropical rainforests meet untouched beaches, far away from civilization.

From Arlie Beach we headed over to the Whitsundays on a sailing trip. Picturesque islands rising from warm, sapphire blue waters, white sand beaches and an amazing flora and fauna - look and see!

One of the next highlights was Magnetic Island near Townsville. We were able to spot wild Koalas - hanging out all day being happily drugged up with eucalyptus leaves.

Those guys we met at Koala Village:

In Bundaberg we visited the local rum distillery and tasted some of the finest spirits made in Australia.

Cairns
From Sydney I flew to Cairns to start my roadtrip down the East Coast, but actually I spent two great weeks in and around Cairns with friends I met at the hostel:

We discovered fabulous swimming spots; at the seaside like here in Port Douglas - always with the thrill if there might be crocodiles or b0x jellyfish...

...or around beautiful creeks with waterfalls in the Atherton Tablelands.

Funny animals on land...

...and in the sea, like Nigel, the Napoleon fish which I met during an amazing diving trip to the Great Barrier Reef.

Finally, Cairns is a cool place for partying, too!

Sydney
I've arrived in Sydney! Have a look at some pics of the famous Sydney Opera House...

...the Sydney Harbour Bridge...

...some views from the Sydney Tower Eye, the city's highest building...

...and some typical Sydney animals - well, the latter two I met at Sydney Seaworld ;-)

Sorry for not posting any new stories lately!
In La Paz my laptcop computer got lost (another interesting story), which didn't make blogging easier. But honestly: Even with a new computer I simply don't have time to write one single article. So much to see, so many people, always on the road...

Therefore I decided to chiefly uploaded some pictures without a lot of explanations, which is much quicker and still gives you the chance to participate in my travels!

Hope you all are good, I'm looking forward to see you again soon!

All the best -
Wolfgang
